Safety Coordinator As a Safety Coordinator at Mid-City Electric, you'll play a critical role in protecting the well-being of our team while working for a company that genuinely values safety, innovation, and employee ownership. What You Will Be Doing: - Providing safety support and information to field and corporate employees and contractors.
- Identifying company safety training needs and coordinating safety training programs.
- Promoting safety awareness through onsite training sessions.
- Participating in the company's occupational safety and health committee.
- Assisting as necessary in implementing a risk communication program and preparing reports.
- Conducting site safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Investigating incidents, near misses, and accidents.
- Collaborating with project managers and foremen to integrate safety plans into all phases of project planning and execution.
Key Experience to Hit the Ground Running: - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety operations for protecting people, data, and property.
- The ability to recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Using applicable information and individual judgment to determine whether procedures or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Ability to monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems.
- Strong interest in remaining up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to the job.
- Knowledge of the electrical commercial construction industry.
What Would Really Make You Shine: - Minimum of one year of experience, preferably in commercial construction safety management, or knowledge and understanding of electrical construction safety from working in the field.
- A bachelor’s degree in safety science, engineering, or industrial hygiene is encouraged but not required.
- OSHA 30, and OSHA 510 training is desired but not required (and we will provide the training!)
- First Aid/CPR certification/training is preferred.

- Completion of projects, the accuracy of safety records, and communications/interactions with owners and co-workers.
