Description


We are currently searching for a Safety Coordinator to work with our Charlotte, NC Division.

The right candidate will help implement established safety and environmental programs for compliance with company and government regulations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies. Facilitates corrections/improvements as identified
  • Work with employees to resolve safety issues and techniques
  • Conduct new employee orientation and other safety-related training for employees.
  • Maintain records of training, qualifications, and certifications as they apply to the safety program
  • Participate in the investigation of accidents and injuries
  • Develop, revise, and enforce the company's Safety Program and Policies
  • Assist with quality control on the job sites; inspect for quality in housekeeping and professionalism.
  • Work with field staff, foremen, and crews to develop safety goals at the start of each new project
  • Develop and oversee safety orientation for company personnel on each job and with all new hires
  • Provides training to field staff to ensure current knowledge and practices are up to date
  • Plan and implement programs as needed to train managers and employees with construction standards that pertain to the scope of work
  • Conduct safety audits at active job sites; review results with site foremen to initiate immediate corrective action
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Plan and implement programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, safe equipment operating techniques, and fire prevention for job sites and office
  • Represent the organization in community and/or industry safety groups and programs


Benefits


  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and OSHA 30 certified
  • 1-3 years of construction safety experience with some previous heavy civil construction, site preparation, and/or underground utilities experience
  • STS-C from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals
  • Knowledgeable about equipment operation and trade work
  • Bilingual English-Spanish highly desired
