This Safety Position supports daily safety operations, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and programs to promote a safe work environment and organizational growth.
Responsibilities include investigating vehicle accidents, identifying causes, and implementing corrective actions; reviewing and developing safe work practices; engaging staff in safety protocols; assisting with safety training programs related to Vision Zero, DOT, and OSHA compliance; handling administrative tasks such as file management, licensing, and reports; and ensuring training and driver qualification files are current.
This role has no supervisory duties.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (college preferred), at least 6 months of safety department experience, and familiarity with DOT and state laws. Strong organizational, communication, and technical skills in MS Office are essential. Physical demands may involve lifting up to 40 pounds and extended periods at a workstation. The position aims to support health, safety, and environmental programs, including security and crisis preparedness, to ensure a safe organizational environment.
