Are you driven to make a meaningful impact on workplace safety, security, and organizational well being?
As a Safety and Security Coordinator, you will guide the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s safety, security, and risk management programs in partnership with HR leadership and leaders across the organization. This role takes a proactive approach to identifying risks and hazards, designing and implementing effective control strategies, and leading initiatives that reinforce compliance, improve workplace safety, and minimize organizational and financial risk.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage and continuously improve safety, security, and risk management programs to reduce workplace incidents, liability, and financial loss
- Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local safety and security regulations
- Evaluate current programs and recommend enhancements, new procedures, and risk mitigation strategies
- Lead workplace incident investigations, including safety events and security concerns; coordinate with law enforcement as needed
- Oversee testing, maintenance, and functionality of safety and security systems (e.g., fire alarms, sprinklers, security systems)
- Develop, implement, and deliver safety and regulatory training programs (OSHA, DOT, etc.)
- Administer and monitor workers’ compensation processes, tracking trends and identifying prevention opportunities
- Promote a culture of safety through communication, training, and organizational engagement
- Document and maintain safety policies, procedures, and compliance records
This position will be filled based on the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities and compensation will align with the level at which the position is filled.
For this role, you also must have:

Bachelor's degree in safety, risk management, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience | 
3 -5 years of experience in safety, security, or risk management; Prior experience in Human Resources or HR-related certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred |

Working knowledge of OSHA and Federal regulations and the ability to interpret and apply safety laws and standards | Champions departmental and Cooperative Initiatives

Advanced Safety Certificate preferred or must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment
