We are working with a client in Dowagiac, MI that is looking to hire a Safety and Recruitment specialist. This role supports both workplace safety and recruiting efforts for a manufacturing facility. The position is responsible for maintaining OSHA-compliant safety programs, leading safety training initiatives, and managing full-cycle recruiting to help attract and hire employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Safety Committee and support workplace safety initiatives

  • Coordinate and conduct safety training (forklift, scissor lift, fire extinguisher, CPR/First Aid, emergency response)

  • Maintain and update OSHA safety programs
    including LOTO, HazCom, PPE, machine guarding, and confined space procedures

  • Perform safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance

  • Manage employee health and safety programs such as respirator fit testing, hearing conservation, and wellness initiatives

  • Oversee safety incentive programs and maintain safety training records

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, sourcing candidates, interviewing, and coordinating hiring activities

  • Partner with staffing agencies, schools, and job fairs
    to attract talent

  • Maintain recruitment platforms and the company career page

  • Provide HR support, assist with employee programs, events, and recognition initiatives

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of HR, Safety, or related experience, preferably in manufacturing

  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Experience with recruiting and sourcing candidates

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems

  • First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain)

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
