Iowa OSHA, a Division of the Inspections Appeals and Licensing (DIAL), is seeking a motivated and solution-orientated professional to join us in our goal to help private and public employers come into compliance with OSHA regulations, and improve the safety and health of Iowa's workforce. Position Overview
Based at our central office near Valley Junction in Des Moines, you will work under the supervision of the Consultation and Education Bureau Chief. In this role you will deliver safety and health training, working with IOSHA staff to identify and offer corrective action for Iowans, and be a trusted resource for OSHA related questions.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in civil, mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering, or industrial safety education;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting experience equal to one year of full time work for a public or private organization where the preponderance of duties were directly related to safety enforcement for each year of the required education to a maximum substitution of four years.

Have you graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in civil, mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering, or industrial safety education?

How many years do you have of a combination of post high school education (major course work in civil, mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering, or industrial safety education) AND/OR experience in a public or private organization where the preponderance of duties were directly related to safety enforcement? 30 semester hours of education equals one year of experience. Applicants may only substitute a MAXIMUM of 120 hours or four years of the education for the experience.
