EHS Contingent Worker Job Description

Responsibilities
1. Project Management. Performs and guides environmental, health and technical safety (EHS) activities resulting from assigned programs leading to innovative applications and extensions of existing or new programs/systems having major importance to the business within the assigned area of responsibility Repair Service Centers. Defines safety project timelines and outcomes. Including:
  • Develop EHS Repair Service program procedures, documentation, and training packages; deploy to applicable sites and monitor and performance
  • Learn and deploy related EHS systems to the locations.
  • Lead investigations as needed
  • Participate in and/or lead health and safety audits or assessments, and EHS Management Review
2. Interactions/Communication. Establishes and cultivates a network of support (Service & repair, EHS, facility, manufacturing, and engineering) to facilitate completion of assignments. Communicates project or program status and results to management. Provides safety consulting services on new programs for assigned locations. Analyzes safety and health data and reports trends and results to management. Recommends plans for correction.
3. Corporate Initiatives. Applies key corporate initiatives and appropriate tools to job function.
4. Leadership. Provides guidance and technical knowledge to new employees and others.

Qualifications
B.S. or Ph.D. graduates in engineering sciences or related fields, or individuals with a lesser degree in those sciences. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university in the appropriate discipline. In addition, between 3 and 5 years of related job experience is preferred.
At a senior level of proficiency, the employee works independently to conduct the more difficult assignments, provides input on work procedures and guides the work of others.
The employee demonstrates application of advanced engineering skills, concepts, procedures and methods to identify and resolve complex, interrelated safety issues. Demonstrates effective communication skills to ensure project success. Also required are analytical, leadership, project planning, program development and deployment skills.
Duties will include serving as a local resource assisting in the development and implementation of site specific safety programs and engineering support in such areas as standards interpretation.
Position is located in Oakdale, MN, supporting the Oakdale Healthcare Service Center. Ability to travel globally is required.
