Lamers Bus Lines is looking for an organized, people-focused individual to join our school bus department in a full-time, year-round role. You'll own the day-to-day routes for your school district - coordinating routes, communicating with drivers, and supporting daily operations - with the opportunity to get behind the wheel as a backup school bus driver when needed. No CDL? No problem - Lamers provides in-house CDL training. Strong communication, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are a must.

Job Requirements

Excellent communication and organizational skills; must be detail-oriented.
Computer experience in a business or education environment.
Willingness to obtain a CDL - Lamers covers training in-house - and assist with school bus driving as needed.
Knowledge of student transportation or commercial transportation operations is a plus.

Job Duties

Coordinate drivers and buses on routes, keeping daily operations running smoothly.
Accurately assign students to routes.
Communicate with drivers daily, providing route information and maintaining strong working relationships.
Maintain accurate dispatch records for payroll and enter data into our system.
Check in drivers and manage two-way radio communication during route times, relaying messages and handling concerns as they arise.
Assist with charter paperwork, including calculating driver pay and trip pricing.
Answer incoming calls, resolving what you can and directing the rest to the right department.
Fill in on school routes or charter trips as a backup driver when needed.
