What You’ll Do
- Lead Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) and perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to eliminate repeat failures.
- Build and maintain equipment Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy and maintainability.
- Own the rotating equipment reliability program with emphasis on centrifugal pumps, vibration analysis, mechanical seals, bearings, and lubrication.
- Champion and continually improve the site lubrication plan.
- Influence project teams with a Design for Reliability mindset; embed reliability criteria in new designs and modifications.
- Provide technical support across the mill, including team leadership and project management for installations and modifications that lift uptime and infrastructure performance.
- Plan, prepare, and execute maintenance activities during mill/department shutdowns.
- Oversee contractor activities, including preventive maintenance work scopes.
- Maintain, expand, and improve the preventive maintenance program.
- Ensure all repair and operational practices meet regulatory requirements and uphold the highest standards of mill and personnel safety.
- Direct repairs and special projects as requested by the Maintenance Manager; assist with additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Reliability Engineering (required).
- Minimum 3 years as a Reliability Engineer and 5+ years of related technical manufacturing support experience; pulp and paper experience preferred.
- Hands‑on predictive maintenance expertise: oil analysis, ultrasonic/sonic techniques, vibration analysis, and thermography.
- Strong planning and organizational capability; able to work with minimal supervision.
- Proven analytical and problem‑solving strengths, leadership ability, and excellent communication skills.
- Experience with CMMS.
