Rotating Equipment Field Service Specialist
Location: Charleroi, PA (Remote)
A day in the field
You start the morning reviewing a service ticket for a compressor installation at a food & beverage plant. By mid-day, you’re on site verifying alignments with laser tools, running vibration analysis, and documenting performance to ensure the system meets spec. An urgent call comes in—another customer needs help diagnosing an electrical control issue. You pivot, perform a quick technical walk-down, propose a solution that differentiates our capabilities, and log details in the CRM for sales follow-up. Before you wrap, you submit a clean service report, expense log, and timesheet so the customer gets accurate invoicing and your team gets immediate visibility.
What you’ll do
- Deliver on-site technical support for installation, repair, and commissioning of Ingersoll Rand equipment while safeguarding system integrity and standards.
- Champion safety—report incidents and near misses promptly with a goal of zero lost-time incidents.
- Elevate responsiveness by joining sales calls, conducting technical walk-downs, and shaping solutions that set our proposals apart.
- Complete service documentation (service reports, customer call notes), time, and expense submissions on schedule for accurate follow-up and billing.
- Recommend process improvements that reduce response time and increase data accuracy.
- Adhere to department procedures to ensure consistent, high-caliber service delivery.
- Use laser alignment and vibration analysis tools for balancing, testing, and diagnostics.
- Identify and share aftermarket opportunities; capture details in CRM to grow our installed base and global visibility.
What you bring
- 3+ years in millwright/maintenance/engineering/field service or similar technical experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- The job includes an assigned vehicle, so the candidate must have a valid license and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle background check.
Core strengths
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with strong collaboration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Time management, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving aptitude.
- Conflict resolution and escalation judgment; critical-thinking mindset.
- Self-directed and team-oriented; highly organized; strong customer and sales partner relationships.
- Uncompromising integrity and analytical acumen; comfortable operating virtually.
Preferred background
- Technical coursework or progress toward a technical degree.
- Career progression with increasing responsibility/leadership.
- Experience specifying parts for engineered equipment.
- Industrial sales or technical selling exposure.
- Ability to troubleshoot vibration, system, and aerodynamic issues.
Travel and schedule
- Up to 80% travel with potential international assignments; support customers’ 24/7 service needs.
Compensation
