Baywood Hospitality is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Room Inspector to join our housekeeping team at the Embassy Suites in Flagstaff, Arizona. This position plays a key role in ensuring an exceptional guest experience by inspecting guestrooms, supporting room attendants, and maintaining brand-standard cleanliness throughout the hotel.

Position Overview

The Room Inspector is responsible for supervising, training, and inspecting the work of assigned Room Attendants, Housepersons, and public-area staff. This role ensures all cleaning procedures meet Embassy Suites and Baywood Hospitality standards. The Room Inspector also assists in daily housekeeping operations to support service excellence, guest satisfaction, and positive team member relations.

Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Ensure guest satisfaction by leading and supporting the housekeeping team.

• Assign rooms for cleaning, inspect completed rooms, and record all housekeeping actions according to hotel standards.

• Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests or concerns, providing effective service recovery when needed.

• Work alongside staff to model proper service behavior and cleanliness expectations.

• Contribute to guest-service improvement programs within the housekeeping department.

Quality & Safety

• Conduct daily inspections of guestrooms, hallways, and public areas to ensure compliance with Embassy Suites and Baywood Hospitality cleanliness standards.

• Maintain knowledge of and adherence to all safety procedures, including proper chemical handling and up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

• Promote a clean and safe work environment and follow all procedures for guest/team member incidents.

Team Support & Development

• Provide direction and support to housekeeping team members during daily operations.

• Offer coaching, feedback, and corrective action when necessary to maintain performance standards.

• Assist with training Room Attendants, Housepersons, and other staff members.

• Help identify quality issues and recommend training or process changes to improve results.

• Contribute to a positive and professional team environment.

Operational & Self-Management

• Participate in daily line-ups, staff meetings, and other departmental meetings to ensure clear communication.

• Assist with productivity goals, housekeeping initiatives, and workflow improvements within the department.

• Demonstrate strong organization, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and frequent interruptions.

• Adhere to all Baywood Hospitality and Embassy Suites housekeeping procedures.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience / Skills:

• Minimum 1 year of housekeeping or inspection experience preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.

• Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks and solving issues promptly.

• Bilingual abilities a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs throughout the shift.

• Frequent bending, standing, and walking required.
