What You'll Do

As a Receptionist, you will:

  • Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism, warmth, and outstanding customer service.
  • Answer and direct incoming multi-line phone calls.
  • Schedule appointments and help patients navigate their healthcare needs.
  • Verify insurance coverage and update electronic health records accurately.
  • Collect co-pays, payments, and balance daily cash collections.
  • Process patient registration and maintain accurate demographic and insurance information.
  • Protect confidential patient information while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Assist patients with information about TBCHS services, including insurance enrollment, Sliding Fee Discount Program, behavioral health, pharmacy, dental, transportation assistance, and other available resources.
  • Perform appointment reminder calls.
  • Assist with medical records, document scanning, filing, and information routing.
  • Help maintain office operations by ordering supplies, processing mail, and managing over-the-counter medication inventory.
  • Support a positive, collaborative environment while providing exceptional service to every patient.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years of customer service, medical office, reception, or related experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire

Preferred:

  • Previous medical office or healthcare experience
  • Experience with electronic health records and insurance verification

Additional Information

  • Travel: Occasional travel between TBCHS locations may be required.
  • Physical Demand: Light.
