Description

Summary:

  • Location: Kansas City, MO
  • Work Mode: Fully Remote
  • Duration: 5 Months

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on continuous improvement; provide leadership on initiatives and projects.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on Rocket Administrator experience.
  • 5 years of Linux server administration (Red Hat and SUSE), including command-line, patching, upgrades, and software install/deploy capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience with Rocket Enterprise Server (formerly Micro Focus) - administering the platform that hosts COBOL workloads on Linux.
  • Exposure to Rocket Enterprise Developer (sufficient familiarity to support the environment, even though the role is admin-focused).
  • AWS experience - solid understanding of operating Linux workloads in an AWS environment.
  • Strong, independently motivated approach to maintaining systems, documenting environments, and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline preferred or 6-8 years of equivalent work experience in related technical disciplines.

Preferred Skills:

  • DB2 and Teradata interface experience.
  • Background supporting mainframe-to-cloud lift-and-shift migrations.
  • Comfort with COBOL, JCL, and control cards in a modernized Linux context.
  • Sound leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Model active learning through continuing to develop breadth of knowledge, skills, and perspective.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
