In RDPI, we deploy leading‑edge industrial robotics and customer fulfillment technologies across North America Stores operations, raising the bar on speed, quality and cost of deploying industrial technologies at scale. This is a travel‑based role with travel across North America, upwards of 75%.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will support and guide the installation of robotics, packaging and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers.You will develop detailed knowledge of robotic systems and guide installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting on site and remotely.You will manage technical ambiguity around integration of work cells in fulfillment centers.You will collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, and internal customers, including site maintenance and operations teams.You will travel to project sites and collaborate both virtually and in person to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on program status.You will manage day‑to‑day project scheduling and budget management.You will work on continuous improvement activities to improve projects in your space and implement continuous improvement ideas around work scopes.You will lead teams of other engineers on projects.QualificationsBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field.Experience working in or around a construction, manufacturing, warehouse, or similar environment.1+ years' experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models (mechanical and electrical).1+ years' experience working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems.Understanding of data collection, reporting processes, and ability to make data‑driven decisions.Ability to review data to set troubleshoot priorities on highly complex technical systems.Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.Interest to work primarily in a construction or warehouse environment in a field‑based role.Ability to travel domestically 75% or more of the year.Preferred Qualifications1‑3 years of experience working in a field engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical‑electrical or networked industrial equipment. Knowledge of specific robotic equipment (Fanuc, ABB) and Allen Bradley PLC experience.Ability to demonstrate past use of data to drive decision making processes.Practical understanding of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP).Certified in OSHA, ANSI, or other Automation Safety Certifications.
