Step into the Control Room
At Symbotic, you’ll be the steady hand at the helm of our robotic material handling system. From a centralized system control center, you will track the pulse of automated adapters, vertical lifts, and autonomous robotic vehicles—spotting anomalies early, guiding resolution, and keeping performance on target.
Impact You’ll Make
- Continuously observe system health across automated adapters, vertical lifts, and robotic vehicles; act swiftly on trends and alerts.
- Diagnose complex operational and technical issues; lead hands-on troubleshooting to restore throughput and quality.
- Translate technical findings into clear actions for site teams and customers; ensure timely updates and expectations.
- Capture incidents and performance gaps; collaborate with engineering to drive root-cause fixes and permanent improvements.
- Coach and assist operators on end-to-end workflows (automation equipment, WMS, and associated IT touchpoints).
- Backfill critical Symbotic on-site roles when needed to stabilize operations.
- Partner closely with customers and internal/external stakeholders to align priorities and resolve escalations.
- Champion continuous improvement, standardization, and production-focused enhancements to the warehouse automation solution.
- Uphold daily safety commitments in line with OSHA, Symbotic, and customer procedures.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s in Electrical or Software Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years working with automated systems.
- Background and capacity to learn: PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), robots (ABB), and software such as SQL, Linux, Python.
- Proven, hands-on assembly, operation, and troubleshooting of robotics and electro-mechanical systems.
- Calm under pressure with agility in shifting priorities.
- Curiosity to master new equipment and a collaborative mindset.
- High sense of urgency and ownership.
Work Environment & Physical Expectations
- Valid driver’s license; ability to drive and/or fly to client and customer locations.
- Own a credit card and manage bi-weekly expense submissions for reimbursement to Symbotic.
- Frequent walking and reaching.
- Routinely work at heights up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches; regularly stand, climb/balance, and stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including lockout/tagout and fall protection.
- Where sites are under construction or as required by safety rules, wear PPE: hard hat, safety vest, steel-toe footwear, eye/ear protection, and fall protection (e.g., safety harness).
- Expect steep stairs within the structure and frequent stair travel to navigate the automation system.
- Work near elevated railings.
- Work in conditions protected from weather but not necessarily temperature; operate comfortably between 105° and 32° F.
