  • EXPERIENCE: 3+ years of hands-on experience programming robotic welding cells (Yaskawa/YRC1000 preferred) and heavy-gauge structural MIG welding

If you are an automation specialist or technical welder tired of standing in a smoky booth doing repetitive manual welds or fighting rigid shops that ignore floor innovation, this direct-hire seat offers a major step up. The employer is a global manufacturing leader in heavy equipment attachments, serving the international construction, demolition, and scrap recycling industries. Known for a deeply rooted "people-first" culture and ongoing capital investments in state-of-the-art robotics, they treat their programming team as core technical assets.

Rather than just clearing pendant errors, you will perform true ground-up offline programming, optimizing multi-axis cell movements and proving out first-article weldments for massive, high-stress industrial fabrications. The company culture actively rejects high-turnover job shop chaos, offering long-term stability, internal promotion tracks, and an unyielding global order backlog.

What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)

  • Develop, simulate, and proof collision-free offline programs using Robotmaster or MotoSim for first-article structural weldments.
  • Optimize robot parameters, fine-tuning travel speeds, torch angles, wire feed rates, and voltages to minimize cycle times and ensure flawless weld penetration.
  • Serve as the frontline technical SME, troubleshooting multi-axis automation glitches, arc-tracking errors, and localized hardware/software faults.
  • Perform rigorous quality checks on completed assemblies to guarantee 100% compliance with AWS standards, engineering specs, and structural tolerances.
  • Mentor cell operators, transferring best practices, refining fixture setups, and streamlining loading/unloading sequences.
  • Oversee basic preventative maintenance on robotic arms, wire feeders, and torch packages to ensure maximum cell uptime.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)

  • 3+ years of verifiable experience programming industrial robotic systems (Yaskawa/Motoman environments highly preferred).
  • Direct proficiency with offline programming tools (Robotmaster or MotoSim) for CAD-to-path generation and virtual simulation.
  • Solid foundation in industrial heavy-gauge MIG welding with expert blueprint literacy; candidates must be prepared to pass an on-site practical weld test.
  • Strong analytical capability to interpret fixture designs and establish optimal fabrication sequences from scratch.
  • Reliable, progressive work history demonstrating multi-year tenure and dedication to past employers.
  • Strong Plus: Associate’s Degree in Robotics/Automated Manufacturing, Robotic Welding Certification, or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) status.
