The position is in the Boise Office in the Chinden Campus, 11321 West Chinden Blvd, Building 2.

Summary:

The Idaho State Tax Commission's Revenue Operation division is seeking two Administrative Support Managers to oversee operations within the Initial Data Operations bureau and the Registration and Processing bureau. These leadership positions are responsible for managing working supervisors and their respective units, ensuring daily operations are conducted efficiently, consistently, and in accordance with agency standards and statutory requirements. Administrative Support Managers provide guidance and direction to supervisors, support decision-making, monitor workload and performance, and help drive continuous improvement across their teams.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership, staff development, and critical thinking skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities. The ideal candidate is adaptable and committed to developing employees, building collaborative relationships, and supporting the agency's mission through effective oversight and team leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to, recruiting, hiring, supervising, and developing staff; supporting employee training and professional growth; providing reports to executive leadership team; managing personnel matters; and fostering a positive and productive work environment. These positions work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, to support operational needs, maintain effective partnerships, and ensure quality service. Administrative Support Managers also assist with policy and procedure implementation, operational planning, and resolving complex or escalated issues.

Detailed responsibilities:

  • Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: (Typically met by at least six months in each of these areas or related training)

  • supervising staff;
  • analyzing operational, management, or administrative problems to identify alternatives and implement solutions;
  • allocating resources in a department or business environment;
  • interpreting and applying laws, regulations and policies affecting department or business operations; preparing and making presentations to groups.

Good knowledge of (typically met by more than six months in this area or related training of at least 2 days)
