Responsibilities

  • Responsible for seeing that approved standards of resident care are maintained and overseeing the quality of nursing care on assigned unit.
  • Delegates responsibility for direct resident care activities to Nurses assigned on unit.
  • Responsible for supervising, evaluating, counseling, and coaching care members on assigned units.
  • Responsible for identifying and resolving problems at the unit level.
  • Keeps the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing informed of residents status through verbal communication and written reports.
  • Makes daily rounds and checks acutely ill residents, admissions, and follows up on residents.
  • Performs periodic audit of charting and documentation.
  • Assures proper execution of physicians orders.
  • Deals effectively, professionally, and tactfully with resident and family concerns.
  • Submits weekly and monthly reports on statistics, meetings, and other pertinent information.
  • Attends continuing education classes, seminars, and workshops to maintain professional competency.
  • Participates in on-call rotation with other nurse managers as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current NY State Registered Nurse License
  • 2 years of Nursing Administration experience preferred
  • Education: Associate Degree, BSN Preferred
