Required Skills:
  • Proven experience as an RNFA or Surgical Tech with First Assistant responsibilities in vascular or endoscopic vein and radial artery harvesting.
  • Proficiency in using the Terumo system for vein and radial artery harvesting.
  • Ability to work independently in high-pressure situations with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to float between facilities as needed, including Slidell Memorial Hospital and St. Tammany Hospital.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience in CV surgery or cardiovascular intensive care.
  • Familiarity with hospital electronic health records (EHR) and surgical documentation protocols.
  • Additional certifications such as CVOR, CNOR, or perioperative nursing credentials.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Valid RN license with current state licensure.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical assisting, vascular surgery, or related fields.
  • Certification as a First Assistant (if applicable).

Other Requirements:
  • On-call availability is required to provide urgent and emergent surgical support.
  • Ability to work 3x12-hour day shifts from 07:30 to 16:30.
  • Willingness to float between facilities, including travel reimbursements when applicable.
