o Level IV Trauma Center
o Level III NICU
o Primary Stroke Center
o Hospital Beds: 277
General Information:
o Beds: varies
o Minimum Years of Experience? At least 2 years of RN M/S experience
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o All Med/Surg patient types
Patient Ratios:
o Depends on staffing - average is up to 6 patients per nurse
Required Licensure & Certifications:
o BLS, NIHSS
o ACLS - preferred
Skills required:
o General Med/Surg skillset; Traches, Chest Tubes, read/interpret cardiac rhythm strips, Lasix gtts, Insulin gtts, Heparin gtts, wound vacs
Support within the Department:
o CNA/Tech
o HUC
o RNs
o Rapid Response Team
o Phlebotomy peripheral lab draws
o Charge Nurse
o Telemetry monitoring: central with tele tech
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC - required
o IV Pump: Alaris
o Med dispensing: Pyxis
Floating: If yes, where? To any M/S unit assignment will be given by checking in with the House Supervisor
Orientation (facility and unit) : 1 shift
Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: every other
o On call? No call
o Holiday Expectations: every other major holiday
o Clinical Interviewing Services participants only : RTO: As part of our program, we approve up to 7 days of RTO, if the traveler is willing to extend their contract to accommodate. Are you comfortable with this? Yes, up to 7 days
o Shift times: 1900 - 0700
o Schedule cycle: 6 weeks
