Position Purpose:
The PACU at Mount Carmel East has 15 bays and recovers all surgical patients from the main Operating Room. The PACU RN will work closely with Surgeons and Anesthesia, and it is considered a critical care department. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1. The shifts are Monday through Friday, 3 12-hour shifts (9000-2130) with weekend and night on-call.
The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse RN, collaborates in the spirit of teamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.
Whatyou willdo:
+ Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and qualityinitiativesandexhibitsprofessionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.
+ Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizingevidence basedpractice. Collaborates withpatientand family to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical,spiritualand educational components.
+ Accurately communicates pertinent information toappropriate teammembersin a timely manner. Keeps patient/family apprised/updated.
+ Documents accurately and completelypertinentassessments,interventionsand outcomes for patientsin accordance withdocumentation standards, policies,proceduresand/or guidelines.
+ Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers asappropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Education: Graduate from school of nursing.
+ Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
+ For CasualRNs2 years of experience isrequired.
+ All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience are subject toparticipateand will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
