    Job Summary and Qualifications

    Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act with emphasis on the pediatric acute and critically ill patient. The RN in the Super Pool will organize, implement, modify, evaluate, document, and maintain the plan of care. This plan will be individualized, family-centered, and holistic.

    The RN in the Super Pool will maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. The RN in the Super Pool will participate in MCCH initiatives and process improvement.

    • The RN in the Super Pool will maintain high-quality age-specific care for the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and young adult population. • The RN in the Super Pool must be willing to switch shifts for periods of time based on the facilitys need. • The RN in the Super Pool will support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

    Requirements

    Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. RN Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas or Compact license. Associates degree is required - if hired after 06/01/2012, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position. Tier II - Must be able to work PICU, CICU, NICU, Level IC, Peds ED, Stem Cell Transplant, Peds Patients. 2 years of critical care type experience required with competency to float to other units within Tier 2. Current AHA or ARC BLS provider. Effective 08/2015, AHA or ARC PALS required within 6 months of hire or transfer. Effective 08/2015, American Academy of Pediatrics NRP required within 6 months of hire or transfer. CCRN, CPEN, RNC-NIC, CPHON, and BMTCN preferred.
