Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) – Circulator for an exciting opportunity in Sitka, AK.
Responsibilities
- Perform preoperative and intraoperative patient assessments
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and hospital policy
- Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Coordinate surgical workflow outside the sterile field
- Ensure surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies are prepared for procedures
- Complete surgical safety checklists and “time out” procedures
- Serve as a patient advocate throughout the surgical process
- Document intraoperative events accurately within the electronic health record
- Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesia providers, and support staff
- Maintain infection prevention and surgical safety standards
- Participate in quality improvement and continuing education activities
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Current Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- ACLS certification (AHA) required
- PALS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Strong clinical judgment and perioperative nursing skills
- Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical workflows
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
- Ability to work effectively in high-acuity surgical environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Operating Room nursing experience preferred
- Experience in perioperative or surgical services environments preferred
