RN - Oncology Ambulatory

Ambulatory Oncology RN for Oncology clinic will work closely with physicians and patients in Head/Neck Thoracic Oncology department.

5x8s - 40hrs with some early or late shift flexing due to physician schedule.

Previous experience in solid tumor oncology is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive oncology ambulatory nursing care to patients.

  • Assess patient condition and document treatment responses accurately.

  • Administer chemotherapy, supportive medications, and injections per protocol.

  • Monitor and manage adverse events; implement escalation procedures.

  • Explain treatment plans, consent, and potential side effects to patients.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary team to advance patient treatment plans.

  • Track and report key performance metrics and patient outcomes.

  • Maintain accurate documentation for regulatory compliance and quality metrics.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and pursue opportunities for advancement.

  • Utilize patient pipelines and territorial planning to inform workload and targets.

  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care processes.


Experience/Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse license with oncology-certified or demonstrated oncology experience

  • Chemotherapy administration certification and safe handling training

  • Ability to assess, document, and escalate adverse events per protocol

  • Experience in ambulatory/outpatient oncology care and patient education

  • Strong documentation skills for regulatory compliance and quality metrics

  • Familiarity with treatment plan coordination and multidisciplinary team collaboration

  • Data-driven mindset with ability to track pipelines, workloads, and targets

  • Excellent communication skills to explain treatment plans and obtain informed consent

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and advancement opportunities
