Shift Differentials

• 5.00 hour from 3p-11p
• 7.50 hour from 11p-7a
• Additional 7.50 hour on weekends

The MHU is a 21-bed adult inpatient unit accepting a wide range of diagnoses from depression and anxiety to schizophrenia and behavioral disturbances. All of our rooms are private and monitored 24/7 by camera. We follow a multidisciplinary team approach for each patient.

The care team includes psychiatrist, ARNP, RN, social work, mental health counselors, discharge navigator, occupational therapy services, patient care techs, and safety techs.

Responsibilities

• To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care at Registered Nurse or LPN skill level in collaboration with the Medical Plan of Care with a minimum of assistance.
• To function as primary care leader, associate, or charge nurse so that optimum quality of patient care is maintained according to the philosophy and objectives of Allen Hospital.
• To exercise accountability, responsibility, authority, autonomy, and act as a role model and resource person with expanded theory and expertise.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of Iowa or meets criteria established by Iowa Board of Nursing.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Ability to plan, assess, implement, and evaluate the nursing care delivered to a group of patients.
• Ability to assume responsibility for personal and professional growth.
• Able to meet the physical demands on file in the Human Resources Department.
