Job Description

Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.

Essential Responsibilities


  • Manage care for an assigned group of patients.

  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; note changes in physician orders.

  • Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.

  • Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe patient conditions and intervene as needed.

  • Administer medications, initiate and monitor IV infusions and blood products.

  • Deliver competent patient care.

  • Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.

  • Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.

  • Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.

  • Delegate tasks to support staff.

Required Qualifications


  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.

  • Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year.

  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients in an Acute Care setting.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

  • Experience with tracheostomy care.

  • Experience with high-flow oxygen therapy.

  • Experience as first line for skills.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.
