Title: RN – Medical Surgical (Med/Surg)
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 14 Weeks (High possibility of extension)
Schedule: Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts
Shift Timing: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Weekly Hours: Approximately 34.5–37.5 Hours
Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality bedside nursing care in an acute care hospital setting. The RN will be responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, post-operative care, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Provide direct bedside nursing care to medical and post-surgical patients
Administer medications and monitor patient responses
Start IVs and manage IV therapy
Provide wound care and infection control management
Monitor telemetry and patient vital signs
Change dressings, insert catheters, and manage medical equipment
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery
Document patient care accurately and timely
Collaborate with healthcare teams for discharge planning
Follow hospital protocols, patient safety standards, and nursing best practices
Required Qualifications:
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting
Most recent experience must be within the last 12 months
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) minimum
AHA BLS Certification required
AHA ACLS Certification required
Strong skills in:
Physical Assessment
Medication Administration
IV Therapy
Wound Care & Infection Control
Post-Operative Care
Telemetry Monitoring
Preferred Qualifications:
EPIC EMR experience preferred
Strong patient education and communication skills
Experience in large acute care hospital settings
Ability to work independently during night shifts
Ideal Candidate:
Strong acute care Med/Surg background
Comfortable in high-acuity environments
Excellent clinical judgment and multitasking abilities
Skilled in telemetry monitoring and post-surgical patient care
