RN Surgical Services OR Manager Position Description Position Name: RN Surgical Services OR Manager Facility Name: Overland Park Regional Medical Center Shift Details: Days (Managers work business hours Monday through Friday but are required to be on call and those hours can vary greatly depending on the needs of the unit) Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center. Our hospital is a premier area destination for Women's & Children s healthcare services. We offer the region s only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU. We have four emergency rooms, including a dedicated Pediatric emergency room and two freestanding ERs located in Olathe and Shawnee. Each year our colleagues treat over 45,000 patients. Job Summary and Qualifications Under the general direction of the Director of Perioperative Services provides nursing leadership for assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care of assigned area(s). The manager assists the Director of Perioperative Services in planning, directing and managing the preadmission testing, pre-operative, operative and post-operative staff to assure quality service to the hospital on a 24 hour basis. Collaborates with physicians and other departments to meet patient and family needs. Manages resources in a fiscally responsible manner. Supports the hospital mission in accordance with regulatory standards. What qualifications you will need: Looking for a minimum of 3 years RECENT ACUTE CARE OR (Operating room) Management experience. Education: Graduation from school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Licensure/Certifications: Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. Certification in area of specialty preferred (CPAN). Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, computer, organizational and leadership skills required. Ability to achieve and then maintain BCLS, ACLS and PALS certification is required. Additional Information: Who does this position report to?
