Job Title: RN Manager – Surgical Services
Location: Fredericksburg, VA
Type: Full-Time/ Direct Hire
Shift & Schedule: Days | Rotating Weekends
Pay Rate: $100,000 - $150,000/year
Position Overview:
The RN Manager – Surgical Services is responsible for overseeing the clinical staff and daily operations of the Operating Room and Central Sterile Reprocessing (CSR) departments. This leadership role provides operational oversight, staff development, quality management, and resource coordination to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative care. The RN Manager collaborates closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to support exceptional surgical outcomes and patient experiences.
Responsibilities
Provide operational leadership for Surgical Services, including the Operating Room and CSR.
Manage daily OR operations, staffing, productivity, and scheduling.
Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the surgical schedule.
Ensure appropriate utilization of staff, equipment, and supplies.
Oversee monthly staffing schedules to maintain adequate coverage.
Monitor premium labor usage and productivity metrics.
Lead supply management and cost-containment initiatives.
Analyze and report perioperative service line statistics.
Support performance improvement and quality initiatives.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and risk management standards.
Participate in employee coaching, performance evaluations, and staff development.
Promote a culture of patient-centered care, teamwork, and accountability.
Required Qualifications
Current Virginia Registered Nurse License.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association or CPR Certification through the American Red Cross.
Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room/Surgical Services experience in an acute care setting.
Strong leadership, operational, and team management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or leadership experience within Surgical Services.
Experience overseeing staff and daily operations.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Master’s Degree in Nursing or a healthcare-related field.
