The RN Manager James Island ER is responsible for the management of nursing practice and operations on a designated unit/service. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of: clinical nursing practice, staff recruitment, retention, labor relations, supply chain and budget, staffing, employee performance evaluation, quality improvement, staff education, medical records, internal and external regulatory and survey requirements.
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:
·Current unencumbered South Carolina or Multistate Compact Registered Nurse License
·BLS – Healthcare provider on hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
·ACLS (American Heart Association) or ALS (American Red Cross) Certification on hire or within 3 months of hire or transfer date
·PALS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) Certification on hire or within 3 months of hire or transfer date
·NRP (MCMC,CPMC) Certification on hire or within 6 months of hire or transfer
· CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification on hire or within 6 months of hire or transfer date
·NIH Stroke Scale Certification must be complete within 90 days of hire.
B. Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Preferred degree can substitute for one (1) years of the required experience.
C. Experience: Recent experience in ED preferred. Recent nursing practice, with experience in a nursing leadership position preferred. Physically and mentally capable to satisfy job requirements. Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of the patient/internal & external customer. Performs in accordance with delineated job responsibilities and satisfactorily completes a yearly evaluation based on these responsibilities
