What You'll Do

As a Long-Term Care Registered Nurse, you will:

  • Assess, plan, provide, and evaluate patient care.
  • Document care accurately in patient records.
  • Delegate tasks to other care team members as appropriate.
  • Work closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Maintain nursing competency through ongoing education.
  • Follow hospital policies, quality standards, safety practices, and infection prevention procedures.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
  • Basic computer skills.

Preferred

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Previous geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care experience.
  • Strong preference for candidates with Long-Term Care experience.

Skills Needed

  • Knowledge of age-specific patient care and development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with patients and families.
  • Understanding of hospital policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely care for patients and operate medical equipment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Ability to push/pull medical equipment and assist with patient handling.
  • Ability to perform CPR when needed.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to biohazards, body fluids, and airborne particles.
  • Fast-paced and sometimes noisy healthcare setting.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and have normal vision and hearing (with corrective devices if needed).
