Compensation
- Hourly Range: $45.78 - $82.98
- Actual hiring rate depends on factors such as education, experience, training, seniority, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Position Summary
PeaceHealth is seeking a skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care Float team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, direct patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support patients and their families across critical care environments.
This float position primarily supports ICU-level care areas, including ICU, ED, CVU, and PACU, with the expectation of working across multiple departments after orientation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs
- Accurately document patient care in accordance with established standards
- Delegate and direct care to appropriate team members based on qualifications and competencies
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and development
- Support hospital policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
- Promote a safe, patient-centered care environment
Qualifications
Education
- Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Experience
Required: Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in one or more of the following:
Emergency Department (ED)
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
ICU Stepdown
This is a float role supporting multiple critical care specialties, including medical/surgical, neurologic, cardiac, and trauma patients
Training with extended orientation may be provided for specialties not previously worked
Preferred: Experience across multiple specialties (ICU, ED, CVU, PACU), as well as CDU or PCU
Licensure & Certifications
Required:
Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire
Within 6 months of hire:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Knowledge of healthcare policies, procedures, and standards
- Basic computer proficiency
Working Conditions
Physical Requirements
- Lift and move patients (up to 35 lbs. without assistive devices)
- Push/pull equipment up to 45 lbs.
- Perform CPR (sustained effort up to 20 minutes)
- Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and movement
Environmental Factors
- Exposure to biohazard materials and airborne particles
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment
Sensory & Communication
- Clear vision and hearing (with correction if needed)
- Ability to communicate effectively and accurately
