The Cardiac Cath Lab has 8 angio suites at the new medical center, specializing in cardiac cath vascular neurovascular stroke and structural heart procedures as well as electrophysiology. Procedures performed in the cath lab include:

• Left and right heart catheterizations • Percutaneous intervention • Intracoronary ultrasound • Rotational atherectomy • Balloon pump insertion • Impella insertion • Valvuloplasty • Left atrial appendage closure • Catheter-directed thrombolysis for pulmonary embolization • Structural procedures (TAVI, TAVR, etc.) • Neurovascular cerebral angiograms • Stroke treatment • Carotid stenting • Treatment of cerebral aneurysms with coiling and pipeline interventions • Peripheral and renal angiograms with intervention as necessary • Watchmen CardioMEMs and Electrophysiology cardiac devices • Ablations • PVIs • Laser lead extractions

In addition, Sanford Health is the only facility in the region performing the following procedures:

• Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) • Mitraclip procedures • EKOS treatment for pulmonary embolization • Angiovac for removal of tricuspid vegetation and pulmonary emboli • Cryoablation for atrial fibrillation

Sanford Health has been recently accredited as a Level 1 Trauma Center and the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in the region. Sanford Health is the only site in North Dakota to achieve Mission Lifeline Accreditation from the American Heart Association. Sanford Health was also awarded the Mission Lifeline Gold Award for STEMI Program and Platinum Award for Heart Attack Care through American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage, and various other nursing interventions • Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care • Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up along the continuum of care • Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program, required, including but not limited to: • American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) • Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) • National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) • Bachelors Degree in nursing preferred • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring, or possesses multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications
