This Per Diem/PRN position is located at the HCA Florida Central Tampa Freestanding ER, 801 E. Hillsborough Avenue, Tampa, FL 33604. Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers and models a commitment to the organizations vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance. Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention. Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical providers. Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively. Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding. Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management. What Qualifications You Will Need Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire. Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred. Minimum one year prior Emergency Room RN experience required. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer. Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and/or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) certifications required within 6 months of hire/transfer. Current NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required. New hire must obtain within 6-month grace period of hire date. Transferring employees must obtain within 6-month grace period. National Board Certification (CEN, CPEN) highly preferred. Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and ability to follow verbal instructions. PC skills.
