Shift & Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every Other Weekend | Every Other Holiday (as needed)
Pay Rate:
Local Pay: $50/hr
Traveler Pay: $53/hr
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Adult) to provide exceptional emergency care in a fast-paced acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care skills, experience managing high-acuity patients, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative emergency department environment.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care for adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and traumatic conditions.
Perform patient assessments, administer medications and blood products, initiate IV therapy, manage central lines, and monitor cardiac rhythms.
Care for patients requiring ventilator management, CPAP/BiPAP, stroke care, trauma care, spinal cord injury management, and other emergency interventions.
Accurately document patient care using the EPIC Electronic Medical Record system while collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
Float to other units within scope of practice as required while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
Required Qualifications
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required (New York is not a Compact State).
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.
Recent Emergency Department experience in an acute care hospital required.
Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV vasopressors, ventilator management, and CPAP/BiPAP.
Strong experience in stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury (TBI), cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, triage, and emergency care for adult and pediatric patients.
Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records required.
Ability to work every other weekend and every other holiday as needed.
Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills in a high-acuity emergency department.
