Job Summary and Qualifications
As an RN Trauma Educator, you will strengthen trauma care across the continuum by preparing teams with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to deliver safe, high-quality care. Serving as both a clinical mentor and program leader, you will turn guidelines, performance-improvement insights, and national standards into clear, practical education that elevates care at the bedside. Through focused assessments, targeted training, and close collaboration, you will ensure every caregiver is equipped to provide the level of trauma care patients deserve - advancing our shared mission to improve more lives in more ways.
Your role will include:
• Assessing and developing trauma competencies, learning needs, and education plans for nurses, physicians, and staff across all areas involved in trauma care. • Designing and delivering evidence-based education, orientation, and preceptorship programs with measurable outcomes and clear evaluation methods. • Rounding and evaluating clinical practice to monitor patient progress, documentation quality, adherence to trauma standards, and opportunities to improve care. • Collaborating and consulting with leaders, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to implement best practices, reduce risk, and strengthen trauma care systems. • Coordinating and tracking trauma education activities, competency validation, outreach programs, PI-related training, and loop-closure documentation. • Engaging and representing the Trauma Program through community outreach, professional presentations, committee participation, and partnerships that support trauma education.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need:
• RN (Registered Nurse) • Associate Degree in Nursing • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
