The Allegheny General CTSICU is a 24-bed unit with all single occupancy rooms. The Unit provides post-surgical ICU care to cardiac thoracic vascular and transplant patients. Nurses are trained to scrub and circulate on the floor as well as provide support and treatment to patients with mechanical circulatory devices, VAD, ECMO, Impella balloon pump. The unit is proud to be a Platinum Level ECMO Center of Excellence and holds the Comprehensive Cardiac Center Certification C4.

General Overview
Directs and provides professional nursing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinates the daily clinical and operational components of the unit.
