This Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) role is based in Kansas City, MO at a 585+ bed hospital operating a Level I Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, and dedicated orthopedic and neurology trauma services.

The role. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) leads shift-level operations on the Ortho/Neuro Trauma unit, directing, monitoring, and evaluating nursing care in collaboration with the broader management team. The CNC serves as the primary resource for bedside staff during the shift, supporting throughput by overseeing admission and discharge processes and participating in ongoing assessment of unit-level care quality. The position carries a staffing management function — assisting with scheduling, managing labor in alignment with patient census and productivity expectations, and maintaining appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment. The CNC also contributes to staff development and engagement by conducting employee rounding, supporting hourly rounds, and providing input on hiring, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution.

What we're looking for.

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Current, active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice, or an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
• Strong, recent acute care experience in a Medical-Surgical setting required; current or recent charge RN experience in Med-Surg strongly preferred, or a minimum of two years as a staff RN on a Med-Surg unit with experience being current (candidates whose Med-Surg experience is not recent will not be considered)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Schedule. Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with rotating weekends.
