Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while coordinating all unit functions during assigned shifts. This leadership role ensures effective patient flow, supervises staff, and collaborates with the management team to improve clinical outcomes, staff engagement, and overall department performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and oversee unit operations during assigned shifts
  • Support admissions, discharges, and patient throughput processes
  • Monitor and evaluate quality of patient care in collaboration with leadership
  • Serve as a clinical resource and lead nursing staff by example
  • Promote teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration to improve outcomes
  • Support patient-first initiatives and service recovery efforts
  • Assist with staff scheduling and labor management based on patient needs
  • Participate in staff interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training
  • Provide guidance on performance management, conflict resolution, and staff development
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and clinical standards
  • Maintain inventory and assist with supply and equipment management
Requirements:
  • Strong current acute care Med-Surg experience required
  • Prefer candidates with charge RN experience in Med-Surg OR
  • Minimum 2 years recent Med-Surg RN experience in an acute care setting
  • Must be currently working in Med-Surg (recent experience required)
  • Active RN license (state or compact) required
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program required (BSN preferred)
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire
  • RN Diploma or Associate Degree required
Schedule:
  • Days: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Rotating Weekends)
  • Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Rotating Weekends)
Setting:
  • Acute care hospital
  • Large, 585+ bed facility
  • Trauma center and stroke center
  • Multiple specialty service lines across several locations
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 6:1
