Hiring Range

$41.00 - $56.38/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.


Overview
Works under the supervision of the Assistant Director and the Director and is responsible for the planning, executing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN utilizes the nursing process to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to insure optimum patient care. Works under the direction of the leadership team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans. Assumes responsibility for efficiently facilitating the surgical schedule with the charge anesthesiologist, makes daily staffing assignments, builds staffing work schedule, manages payroll, initiates departmental and Interdepartmental communications that advance the surgical schedule, participates in disaster planning and emergency management, services as expert clinical resource for each surgical service.

  • Evaluates clinical performance based on organizational priorities, identifies opportunities for process improvement and takes action to integrate best-practices and improve quality of care.

  • Evaluates service practices, identifies opportunities to improve patient experience and takes appropriate actions that result in increased satisfaction.

  • Facilitates a collaborative work environment; takes action to build and develop a motivated team capable of meeting performance goals through on-boarding, orientation, initial qualification and ongoing staff development.

  • Assists with strategic planning, collaborates on goal setting and action planning, executes and adjusts plans to meet or exceed goals, drives day-to-day integration of goals into operation.

  • Monitors department productivity and efficiency, identifies areas of improvement, and recommends/implements actions plans.

  • Collaborates with the health system, EMS agencies, and the community to identify opportunities for improving access to care, reputation, and relationships to increase average daily volume.


Qualifications

Education

  • Program Graduate, Nursing (Required) and
  • High School Diploma or GED, HS Diploma/GED only required if graduate from a nursing diploma program, not required for ADN or BSN (Required) or
  • Associates Degree, Nursing (Preferred) or
  • Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Preferred)


Experience

  • 2 years Critical Care RN experience (Required)
  • 1 year Charge Nurse experience (Preferred)


Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
