Position Summary

The RN Charge Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents while overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations of the assigned unit. This role provides leadership and support to nursing staff and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), ensuring quality resident care is delivered in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, facility policies, and professional nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care and clinical oversight for residents.
  • Supervise and support nursing staff and CNAs during assigned shifts.
  • Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident care.
  • Promote a safe, comfortable, and resident-centered environment.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and facility policies.
  • Serve as a clinical leader and resource for nursing staff.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program or approved Registered Nurse (RN) program.
  • Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Previous RN Charge Nurse experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred.
  • Strong leadership, clinical assessment, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional, compassionate care to residents.
