RN – Case Management / Clinical Documentation Specialist (Remote) | Contract

Location: Hyannis, MA (Fully Remote)

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Hours: 32 Hours Per Week

Responsibilities:

  • Review inpatient medical records for documentation accuracy and completeness.

  • Identify opportunities for Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI).

  • Formulate and communicate clinically appropriate physician queries.

  • Collaborate with physicians, HIM professionals, and nursing staff.

  • Ensure accurate representation of severity of illness and risk adjustment.

  • Follow up on documentation queries and discrepancies.

  • Participate in CDI education initiatives and meetings.

  • Support accurate DRG assignment and documentation practices.

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in Epic EMR.

  • Manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment.

  • Support regulatory compliance and documentation integrity initiatives.

  • Provide professional communication and support across departments.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS).

  • CDI Competency Exam completion.

  • Management or supervisory experience.

  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory environments.

  • Strong physician communication and collaboration skills.

Requirements:

  • Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) License.

  • Recent acute care experience (ICU, CCU, or Medical/Surgical) OR 4 years of recent Case Management experience.

  • Epic EMR experience required.

  • Prior fully remote work experience required.

  • Strong understanding of pathophysiology and disease processes.

  • Knowledge of Medicare Part A and Part B guidelines.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

  • Ability to work rotating weekends and occasional holidays.
