About Us Birthing Center

Located on the first floor at Freeman Hospital West we offer private labor, delivery, and recovery rooms with a variety of labor options for our patients

As one of the busiest maternity centers in Missouri, we've earned the trust of moms-to-be because we provide family-centered care and individual attention in a warm, caring environment

The Birthing Center consists of 9 labor suites, 1 triage rooms, 2 operating rooms, and 2 recovery bays

Come join our highly trained expert team, which includes board-certified obstetricians, highly skilled physicians, midwives, nursing and lactation teams, and anesthesia staff, available 24 hours a day, to care for all patients

We deliver more than 1,700 babies every year that's one baby every five hours!

What You'll Do

In conjunction with the medical plan of care, independently performs systematic and continuous assessment of the physical, emotional, clinical and psychosocial needs of assigned patients and families; plans and implements appropriate interventions; and evaluates effectiveness and adjusts plan as indicated in a timely manner in the provision of safe and effective care.

Requirements

Must participate in all available and applicable Fetal Monitoring courses.

Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state. If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse's state of residence.

If no experience as an RN or LPN in a hospital setting or it has been more than 5 years since last worked in a hospital setting, nurses must successfully pass Patient Care Orientation (PCO) within 30 days.

AHA ACLS within 180 days.

AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days.

AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 365 days.

Maternal/Child Competency Day annually by transcript due date.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider within 90 days.
