Responsibilities

  • Provide direct behavioral health nursing care to patients in an inpatient setting.

  • Assess patient status and document progress in electronic health records.

  • Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects per protocol.

  • Identify and address safety risks; implement de-escalation techniques.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans.

  • Monitor clinical metrics and contribute to performance dashboards.

  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

  • Engage patients and families in care planning and education.

  • Participate in training programs to advance clinical skills and certifications.

  • Assist in discharge planning and ensure continuity of care post-hospitalization.

  • Utilize patient care pipelines to forecast patient needs and bed availability.


Experience/Qualifications

  • Active RN license with at least 1 year in behavioral health care.

  • Proficient in inpatient psychiatric assessment and care planning.

  • Administer and monitor psychotropic medications per protocol.

  • Strong de-escalation and safety intervention skills.

  • Experience with electronic health records and accurate progress notes.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to update individualized care plans.

  • Ensure regulatory and facility policy compliance in daily practice.

  • Participate in ongoing training; pursue certifications to advance skills.

  • Track and report clinical metrics; contribute to performance dashboards.

  • Engage patients and families in care planning and education.

  • Assist in discharge planning and post-hospital continuity of care.

  • Utilize care pipelines to forecast patient needs and bed availability.

  • Demonstrate growth mindset; track personal targets against pipeline insights.
