Primary Responsibilities
- Staff Development & Clinical Education
- Coordinate orientation and onboarding programs for nursing staff
- Conduct clinical competencies and skills validations
- Develop and lead nursing in-services and educational programs
- Mentor nurses, CNAs, and clinical staff
- Monitor required education and compliance training
- Support employee engagement, retention, and professional growth
- Infection Prevention & Control
- Assist in overseeing the facility's Infection Prevention Program
- Monitor infection surveillance and infection control practices
- Track infection trends and support outbreak management efforts
- Conduct infection control audits and staff education
- Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state regulations
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities
Assistant Director of Nursing Responsibilities
- Partner with the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily clinical operations
- Support staffing, scheduling, and nursing leadership initiatives
- Conduct rounds and monitor quality of care
- Assist with survey readiness and regulatory compliance
- Participate in audits, investigations, and quality improvement projects
- Provide leadership support in the absence of the DON
Qualifications
Required
- Current Texas RN license in good standing
- Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care experience required
- Experience conducting staff education and competency training
Strong knowledge of:
- Infection Prevention & Control
- CMS Regulations
- Survey Readiness
- QAPI
- Clinical Documentation
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Strongly Preferred
- Current Infection Prevention Certification (IPCO, CIC, IP-BC, or similar)
- Previous Infection Preventionist experience in a SNF setting
- Previous Staff Development Coordinator experience
- Previous ADON, Unit Manager, or Nurse Leadership experience
