Position: RN – Ambulatory Clinic
Department: Clinic – GI Lab

Duration: 10 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 4 Days/Week | 10 Hours/Day | 40 Hours/Week
Pay Range: $50-$55/hr.

Additional Information

  • Shift Schedule:
    • 7:15 AM – 5:45 PM (3 days/week)
    • 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM (1 day/week)
    • One scheduled day off each week.
  • No scheduled weekend shifts.
  • Weekend Call Rotation: Every 8–10 weeks (Friday 5:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM).
  • Weeknight Call Rotation: Approximately once every two weeks (5:30 PM – 7:00 AM).
  • Hospital-provided scrubs.
  • No Float Position.
  • Color Vision Test Required.
  • Fit Test Required.

Required Experience

  • Clinical experience and/or interest in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment.
  • Hospital-based GI Lab procedural experience.
  • Ability to function as both an RN and Endoscopy Technician.
  • Experience with Epic OpTime documentation.
  • Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented approach to patient care.

Preferred Experience

  • At least one (1) year of relevant nursing experience.

Education

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-State Nursing License (NLC).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider or AHA-approved equivalent.

Job Summary

The Staff RN – Ambulatory Clinics works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic, patient- and family-centered care. The RN systematically collects and assesses patient health data, develops, implements, and evaluates individualized plans of care, utilizes evidence-based practice to guide clinical decision-making, coordinates care across settings, promotes patient safety, supervises delegated care in accordance with Wisconsin Nurse Practice standards, participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives, and assumes responsibility for ongoing professional development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care coordination across the continuum of care.
  • Deliver direct patient care in the ambulatory clinic setting.
  • Provide patient and family education.
  • Perform telephone triage and eVisits.
  • Perform and assist with in-clinic minor procedures.
  • Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
  • Coordinate care with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare providers.
  • Utilize evidence-based practice to support clinical decision-making.
  • Delegate and supervise care in accordance with Wisconsin Nurse Practice standards.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Float to other clinical areas as needed to support operational needs.
  • Assist with GI procedures including Colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, EUS, Colon with EMR, EGD with Dilation, and EUS with Fine Needle Aspiration.
  • Work alongside anesthesia during MAC sedation procedures and assist with occasional moderate sedation procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
