$50–$55/hour

Help Patients Get Back to Living Life

Occupational therapy in home health is different.

Instead of treating patients in a clinic, you meet them where life actually happens — in their homes, their routines, and their daily environments. This allows you to help people regain independence in the moments that matter most.

At Riverside Home Health & Hospice, our Occupational Therapists help patients rebuild the skills that allow them to live safely, confidently, and independently at home.

If you are an Occupational Therapist who enjoys autonomy, creative problem-solving, and meaningful patient relationships, you may have found the place where your work makes the greatest impact.

Why This Role Matters

Our Occupational Therapists help patients regain independence after illness, injury, or hospitalization.

In this role you will:

• Evaluate patient functional abilities and daily living skills
• Develop individualized treatment plans to improve independence
• Teach patients adaptive strategies and new ways to complete daily activities
• Identify home safety risks and recommend modifications or equipment
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe mobility and self-care
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapy team members

Your work helps patients remain safely in their homes and return to the activities that give life meaning.

Who Thrives in This Role

Our ideal Occupational Therapist:

• Enjoys one-on-one patient care
• Is creative and solution-oriented
• Thinks critically about functional independence
• Communicates well with patients, families, and care teams
• Works confidently in an independent field-based role
• Believes therapy is about improving real-life function, not just completing exercises

Home health experience is helpful, but many therapists find it becomes their favorite way to practice once they experience the flexibility and patient relationships.

Our Culture (This Actually Matters Here)

At Riverside, we live by CAPLICO, the values that guide how we care for patients and support each other.

C – Customer Second
We support each other so we can serve patients well.

We treat patients, families, and teammates with kindness and respect.

I – Intelligent Risk Taking
We advocate for patients and address challenges early.

C – Celebration
We recognize wins and meaningful progress.

O – Ownership
We take responsibility for outcomes and patient success.

At Riverside, culture isn’t something we talk about occasionally — it shapes how we work every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Evaluating patient functional status and independence with daily activities
• Assessing home environments for safety risks and barriers
• Developing individualized treatment plans and therapy goals
• Teaching adaptive techniques for daily living skills
• Recommending and training patients on assistive equipment
• Educating caregivers and family members
• Supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants when appropriate
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary home health team

Why Therapists Choose Home Health

Many therapists find home health allows them to practice therapy the way it was meant to be practiced.

You’ll experience:

• One-on-one patient visits
• Flexible scheduling and routing
• A wide variety of patient diagnoses
• The ability to see real-life functional improvement
• Strong collaboration with nurses and therapy teams

What Helps You Succeed

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy program accredited by ACOTE
• Eligible for or certified by NBCOT
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Oregon
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Two years of clinical experience is preferred.

Why Work at Riverside

At Riverside Home Health & Hospice, our mission is simple:

Our clinicians make that happen every day by helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life.
