You will develop and retain consultative relationships with clients and internal business partners, Broker and Carrier business partners. You must also be able to evaluate and educate clients on coverage gaps and newly available coverage options, industry state of the market, as well as emerging trends.ResponsibilitiesAssist with the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive and competitive insurance programs for the firm's geographically diverse real estate and asset portfolios and corporate operations, including the negotiation of policy terms and conditionsAssist with the research, evaluation and make recommendations regarding current and state-of-the-art trends in risk management, safety and loss control strategies.Assist with budgets, forecasts, financial reports, premium allocations, premium audits and retro calculations.Coordinate claim coverage issues; participate in claim review meetings and analysis of claim reservesProvide consultation and technical advice on insurance and risk management issues to business units; laisse with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, lenders, asset and property managersAssist with performing asset acquisition due diligence, identifying and analyzing significant risk management and insurance issues, compiling required underwriting data and assisting with making appropriate recommendationsAssist with establishing contract standards for insurance and indemnification wording; review contracts and other legal documents to evaluate risk related provisions, assuring competitiveness and compliance with insurance and risk management policiesAssist with internal communication and strategies related to program recommendations and risk management initiativesDevelop detailed policy summaries for dissemination to lenders, tenants, and other third partiesAssist with the maintenance of annual records and implementation of our Agency Management SystemAnalyze the insurance provided by joint venture partners for compliance with applicable agreementsAssist with the development of standard processes and procedures for risk management functionsAssist with the development and implementation of relevant risk management policies, training and communication to ensure the efficient operation of individual operating unitsOther risk management duties as assignedExperience and Educational Qualifications10-15+ years of experience in the insurance industry, Risk Management Department or Brokerage a plusAdvanced degree or insurance industry certifications (CPCU, ARM) a plusStrategic and Financial AcumenStrategic thinker, with vision and an entrepreneurial spirit, who anticipates issues, understands outcomes and effects solutions on a proactive basis.Strong analytical skills and negotiating skills.Organizational and Project ManagementStrong organizational, project management and problem-solving skillsEffectively prioritizes tasks and projectsEffectively identifies/anticipates opportunities, needs and issues; conducts comprehensive research and analysis, guiding clients through a thoughtful process to understand options and the ramifications of choices and makes appropriate recommendations to mitigate riskCommunicationStrong relationship management and listening skillsStrong presentation and written communication skillsUnderstands differences in communication styles and preferences with the ability to adapt and communicate effectively with allPersonal AttributesDemonstrated high intelligence, integrity, honesty and discretion; maintains confidentiality; Innovative, flexible, down to earth with a good sense of humor.Diplomatic, objective, tactful, non-judgmental, flexible, respectful and pragmatic in all interactions.Demonstrated maturity and judgment; sensitive to the highly personalized and discreet nature of this function; able to provide advice without being intimidatedEffective in an entrepreneurial environmentAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and WordDemonstrates firm's core values, exuding behavior that is aligned with corporate cultureAll offers of employment are contingent on your successful completion (where permitted by state law) of a confidentiality agreement and background check.
