Sigma, Inc. is seeking an experienced Risk Finance Coordinator for a 3-month onsite contract opportunity in Tyler, TX.
This position supports healthcare risk finance operations, with a primary focus on professional liability insurance for employed physicians, Certificates of Insurance (COIs), commercial property and casualty insurance, insurance renewals, policy administration, underwriting documentation, and insurance invoice review.
The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance administration, risk management, professional liability, medical malpractice insurance, commercial insurance, or healthcare risk operations and be comfortable working with insurance brokers, underwriters, physicians, healthcare administrators, and internal risk management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate procurement, renewal, and cancellation of professional liability insurance for employed physicians and physician programs.
- Obtain appropriate liability coverage for newly hired physicians and close out coverage for departing physicians.
- Coordinate extended reporting coverage and annual insurance renewals.
- Maintain physician insurance policies, endorsements, correspondence, and historical insurance records.
- Review broker and insurance carrier billings, policies, and endorsements for accuracy.
- Coordinate annual insurance program coverage information for healthcare facilities and representatives.
- Serve as a resource for questions regarding physician professional liability coverage.
- Communicate with insurance brokers, underwriters, state agencies, physician practice managers, department leaders, and risk management personnel.
- Collect and organize underwriting information for commercial property, casualty, and excess insurance coverage.
- Compile underwriting data and assist with preparation of annual insurance submissions to brokers.
- Assist with procurement and annual renewal of applicable Patient Compensation Fund coverage.
- Administer the Certificate of Insurance (COI) program.
- Review insurance provisions within leases and contracts to ensure appropriate coverage is reflected on certificates.
- Respond to facility requests for Certificates of Insurance.
- Review insurance premiums and risk finance provider invoices for accuracy and assist with preparation for payment.
- Assist with Letters of Credit and surety bond programs, including annual renewals.
- Provide administrative support to the Texas Occupational Injury Assistance Program (TOIAP) Appeals Committee.
- Support occupational health and safety, emergency preparedness, safety and security, and related committee activities.
- Assist the Risk Finance Manager and Director of Risk Finance with risk finance and loss prevention activities as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in risk management, risk finance, insurance administration, or commercial insurance.
- Experience with professional liability or medical malpractice insurance.
- Experience processing or managing Certificates of Insurance (COIs).
- Knowledge of property and casualty insurance.
- Experience reviewing insurance policies, endorsements, premiums, or invoices.
- Experience working with insurance brokers, carriers, or underwriters.
- Healthcare, hospital, physician practice, or healthcare insurance experience.
- Experience supporting insurance renewals or underwriting submissions.
- Familiarity with surety bonds or Letters of Credit is a plus.
