Rime is seeking a Solder Assembly Technician who will be responsible for assembling, soldering, inspecting, and repairing electronic circuit boards and components used in Measurement While Drilling (MWD) tools. This position ensures electronic assemblies are built to company quality standards and perform reliably in harsh downhole drilling environments. The Solder Assembly Technician will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to support production and repair activities.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and solder electronic circuit boards and components used in MWD tools.Perform hand soldering of through-hole and surface mount (SMT) components.Inspect completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality and workmanship standards.Repair and rework circuit boards and electronic assemblies as required.Read and follow assembly drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials.Use soldering stations, microscopes, and other assembly tools safely and effectively.Perform basic testing and inspections of completed assemblies.Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures when handling electronic components.Maintain accurate production and repair records.Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to meet production schedules.Follow all company safety and quality procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation
High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience with electronic assembly and soldering.Experience working with printed circuit boards (PCBs).Familiarity with through-hole and surface mount (SMT) soldering.Basic understanding of ESD handling procedures.
Skills
Strong hand soldering skills and attention to detail.Ability to read assembly drawings and work instructions.Basic knowledge of electronic components and circuit board assembly.Ability to identify and repair soldering defects.Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.Ability to use soldering and inspection equipment.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Basic computer skills for recording production information.
